Dalton v Walney 9/2/08
Dalton again managed to raise
21 players for this fixture against walney who were without key player Pat trainer
first half was good with solid
defence from both teams but the game was starting to become with infringements from both sides
half time 0-0
Second half
both sides were playing good
rugby but indiscipline made this a game to forget , dalton losing 2 players and walney 3 players to the changing rooms following
seperate incidents throughout the game
there were sinbins to follow
with another 4 players from both sides having a 10 minute rest
walney scored through a break
down the left hand side but failed to convert 0-4
dalton then took the lead through
les brown and converted 6-4
this game could of gone either
way but walney pipped in to score but failed to convert 6-8
dalton tried valiantly to get
back on terms but never had the power following the dissmissals

Dalton A v Millom A 26/01/08 League
match
Both sides defended brilliantly throughout the
first half with attacks from both sides being dealt with throughout, Dalton had a lot of possesion and territory
but could not cross the whitewash, A good kicking game by Mike oldcorn and Mike robinson keeping millom on the backfoot
Just before half time both sides started to tire
and opportunities opened up but both sidesheld out strong to half time
Half Time 0-0
After half time it was millom who came out with
intensity and a desire to win and as the dalton side tired they crossed through a try from the millom number 6 this was then
converted
Dalton came back into the game with some good
attacking runs but the millom defence held out strong.
the next try came through a millom kick and chase
of which again saw the number 6 cross and the conversion was made
The young dalton side competed well against a
well experianced millom side and this should make the league campaign ever closer.
Ulverston A V Dalton A Handicap

After the previous games Dalton A had an
ever growing injury list which involved key players Mike oldcorn - Foot , Rob Lindsay - Shoulder , Steve Coward - Nose , John
Hillman - Virus and other commitments by players meant that this was always going to be a struggle from the outset.
After a rally round for troops from a previous
squad of 24 players Dalton were down to 13 players including the evergreen Richard sharples and Ever injured

The first half begun with Dalton holding
ulverston for 10 minutes but the strength of ulverston finally broke the line
Dalton played well in patches with Jack
Huddart and Mark Iveson leading the way with some solid runs,
Dalton replied through a Jamie lindsay break
who then passed to Iveson who crossed for a well deserved try
Half time (20 - 4 )
After the break ulverston came out strong
through The clough brothers were begining to break holes in the defence.
Dalton held out and good work from Les brown
and Richard sharples set up jamie lindsay to break 90 meters to score in the corner
The Dalton team played with determination and
courage against a stronger and experianced Ulverston outfit
